Don’t Let Me Get In My Zone

You are now watching the throne, don’t let me get in my zone (x3)
Bucksy in the building, you know he’s about to leave it.

Yes, I planted some dough inside one of my favorite brands of protein bar. So what? I played favorites a little bit. I don’t want this movement to be associated with some overly chewy yet flavorless nutrition bar.

What’s worse than something that tastes like crap that you have to chew 50 times?

That’s why I went here and did this. I’m trying to push forward all brands that I stand behind.  That’s part of this whole thing, positive advocation.
The story starts on the corner of 34th and Broadway, a magical place to be around the Christmas season. You are getting a little hungry from all this shopping, but you’re not quite ready to do the full sit-down experience. The other factor contributing to the choice you’re about to make is that you’ve been doing so well this holiday season with the eating and exercising, you are all but refusing to put on that winter weight you pack on every year. Today you make another healthy choice. Go grab a bar here:

The place is packed, not because it’s the best GNC around, but because NYC is always packed everywhere this time of year. Time to move quick and get back to the grind of holiday shopping.

You spot the Zone bar section!

It’s obvious you’re excited by this.  Stop jumping around… you’re going to get yourself mugged.

Now you’re familiar with the Zone diet, so  you know that the ratio of 40:30:30 (carbs:fat:protein) is going to give you a little boost and keep you full until it’s time to break bread with the family. So you grab a Zone bar, but wait…

What is in there? You need to get a closer look. This is NYC. It could be anything.

It could be anything but that! YOU JUST FOUND MONEY!  Being that you’re in Midotwn Manhattan, you would have been less surprised if you found a ransom note, but you’re ten times happier. Now you have extra dough to buy that bar, and the boost you’re feeling is not from the calories, but from your friends over at

I hope you enjoy that little extra pep in your step. But hey! Don’t forget to read the note 🙂

Delicious choices – and thanks again for the ZonePerfect love! We wanted to let you know that advances in nutritional science research has demonstrated that the benefits of balanced nutrition can be achieved by following a variety of nutritional profiles similar to 40-30-30 but not exclusively 40-30-30. Therefore, the ZonePerfect Nutrition Bars have been updated to reflect this insight. A high protein intake remains the core of the bar.
